John “Shmoo” Shimooka named Director of International Business for WSS, Inc.

San Clemente, CA: VersaTraction, makers of the waxless traction process, has named
John "Shmoo" Shimooka, of Sydney Australia, as their new Director of
International Business Development. Shimooka will also be versatile in the
opening of VersaTraction locations in Australia later this summer.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Shmoo began his pro career at 17 after a long and
successful amateur career in which he won two pro events before the age of 16.
He went on the world tour and had successes in many countries including Japan,
Australia, USA, and Hawaii.
Retired from the pros at age 30, Shmoo moved into the surf industry where he
worked for 2 of the biggest companies in surf - Quiksilver and Oakley in sports
marketing and athlete management.
He was very involved in the foundation and building process of Live Webcast for
surfing which now reaches millions of homes on a regular basis. He worked as an
anchor for Quiksilver commentary team, as well as hosting many charity events,
ASP Awards Shows, TV shows as well as webcast shows globally.
In addition to VersaTraction's Director of International Business, he is also
currently Director of Consolidated Sports Management Group, where he manages an
impressive group of professional sports stars.
